1956 Chevy Bel Air
![]()
This is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, nicely finished in House of Kolor Kandy Purple and twilight pearl base paint. The frame off restoration of this beauty was done entirely by its owner, Lenny Schaeffer, president of the Bearing Burners Car Club. Despite the roomy interior of the '56 Bel Air, this car has won more trophies than could probably fit inside of it -- over 100 since 1998!

This 468 Chevy big block has loads of power, especially when hooked to a 350 turbo transmission.

The VDO gauges lend a nice classic look to this Bel Air's dash, and the gray velour interior is the perfect finishing touch.
An examination of the engine specification charts for the 1956 Bel Air shows us that the Chevrolet V-8 offered for this year's model was actually lighter than the six cylinder version. With the best package of engine options selected, the Bel Air boasted 225 horses. Not bad for over 40 years ago!Search thousands of hot rod sites.
