1964 Pontiac Catalina

This is an aquamarine 1964 Pontiac Catalina with Cragar S/S wheels. We usually don't show many vehicle shots that include the vehicle owners, but we thought that this was a great photo of "a man and his machine".

Would you believe that the 1964 Catalina came standard with a 389 that cranked out 235 horses? The top engine option for 1964 Pontiacs was a 421 with three two-barrels. It had a compression ratio of 10.75:1 and pushed 350 horsepower.

Pontiac had several high-performance cars in the 1964 model year. The 1964 Catalina equipped with the 421 engine went 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds and cranked out a quarter mile in 16.1 seconds. It was these high-end vehicles that helped Pontiac earn a third place industry ranking for 1964.
