1954 Chevrolet

This is a 1954 Chevrolet in traditional red and white.


Check out the grille. Chevy made some minor body adjustments from 1953 to give the appearance of a wider car. One of these changes was a new grille with five vertical bars instead of three.


The round smooth shape of the Chevrolet sedan would soon give way to a sharper, more streamlined design that would dominate the late 1950's and early 1960's models.

Chevy had been using an inline-six engine for years now. A V-8 was finally introduced as an option in 1955, and at 162 horses, it would seriously rival the previous six-cylinder standard option.
