1 Part Epoxy over POR15

Hello,

I am cleaning up my truck chassis, cleaning of loose rust/debris and then
Would like to coat. I have a bunch of POR15 I would like to use as a primer for a 1 part epoxy top coat. I do not care about looks, just adhesion and coverage. Does anyone see an issue using the POR15 in this manner? Thanks

I have never heard of a "one part" epoxy. Unless it's some sort of moisture cure like a moisture cure urethane, "epoxy" mean two components, the primer and the hardener.

I am also leaning towards this 2 part epoxy, seems like it would be durable.

What do you guys think? Will it adhere to the POR15?

Before you decide to top coat POR15, go to their web site or talk with one of their customer service specialists. POR is a very good product, you have to follow their instructions. I believe it requires something POR call a tie coat.

lots of rattle can epoxies. Rustoleum makes an Appliance Epoxy that is awesome (I spray all my floor registers with it), Eastwood has a 'rust encapsulator' epoxy. A lot of others out there in rattle cans as well.

If you try to spray anything over POR, you're just asking for problems. The good thing is though, if you decide you don't like it, it will blow off in sheets with compressed air.
