1930U Windshield Frame Project

Hereís the latest progress. The Plymouth didnít have a windshield frame but when I was in Hershey last year, I found a nice one but had no clue as to what it fit. Still donít know. It was only $25.00 and I figured what the heck, Iíve had to make everything else for the car, so I bought it.

It took me about 3 hours and I think itís going to work. I cut down the height, width and had to redo the curved lower channel to fit the contour of the top of the cowl.

It had a really cool double full length piano style hinge that was also in great shape. I plan to finish it up over Thanksgiving. After that I will begin the long process of finish welding and grinding everything.

Looks like you are on your way to a nicely priced windshield frame. Are you going to paint, chrome or powder coat when you have it welded up?

I am going to use industrial nickel kind of a dull look.
