1941-1948 Ford car bumper replacement

I've got a 41 super deluxe that I'm in the middle of putting a 4.6 inand ive got the fenders of to make my job easier and I'm gonna do a little painting. I look at the car all morning and I think it would look better with no bumper. Anybody ever fill theirs in? Is the a kit or just hammer out some metal?
