1958 Chevy Apache

Does anyone have the factory installed passenger side outside mirror?
I installed the correct arm and mirror where the factory provisions were in the passenger side door and the mirror is useless from the driver seat. You can not see the mirror. Do you have to heat up the mirror arm and bend it or ??? Need help on this one.

I don't even think they had one available did they? Or was it simply different and doesn't match the drivers side? I know that on my 65 Skylark if you had a remote mirror on the drivers door your optional passenger door was a regular non remote that didn't look ANYTHING like the remote.

Does your mirror resemble the one in the picture.. all the ones I have seen were a straight stalk sticking up at about a 45% angle with a round mirror head. no heating or bending required..

stock 55-59 arms are curved like the picture onemoretime linked to
i ran stock arms on my 58 for 20 years and can see the mirror head fine
with my fender mounted spare tire, when i went to wide tires i couldn't see past the spare tire
i made a new stock looking arm in the pictures, 1st & 2nd pic is stock arm

stock arm is pot metal: don't heat it, it will melt or snap
