Finally got around to finishing the hood hinge pockets. Cleaning up the driver side hinge mount panel revealed a few rust holes ..

.. fixed the rust holes and finished the pocket for the driver side hood hinge.

Bolted the headers and h-pipe on to check my clearances. On the driver side the header flange is 1/2" away from the original toe board, while on the driver side it is 2" into the original toe board. I like to keep at least 1.5" of clearance (a 2x4 on it's skinny edge is a good way to set clearance). That way if need be I could have a heat shield spaced 1/2" away from the body and still leave a 1" air gap to the exhaust. As you can see the tri-five chevy engine bay is a bit wider than the Mercedes.
