1969 firebird nose swap

Hey guys Iím looking to buy a first gen firebird, I prefer the 67-68 nose because I like the integral bumper but ive been seein a lot of 69ís my question is purely out of curiosity at this time hopefully this can help me open up the market a little. My question is if the 67-68 nose will fit on the 69 firebird? I know that I would need to change some or all of the front sheet metal but if it can be done what exactly needs to get changed?

It will bolt on to the subframe and cowl, but fender to door body match is terrible looking. Body lines and shape are a good amount different at that point.

Front fender and rear quarter wheel opening shape is very different also, it will look odd for that reason too.

'68-69 bumper, grill and headlights can't just be bolted into '69 fenders either, so that is a no-go.

Do you happen to have a picture of what youíre talking about? Or at least know where I can find one? Iíd like to see what youíre talking about

Just do a Google or Bing search for 1967-1969 firebird images, it is plain to see why things don't match. The '69 has a pronounced body line the full length of the car right at the height of the top of the wheel openings.

I don't have a specific image of a '67-68 Front clip on a '69 body, but I have seen one bolted together like that years ago, unfinished project that I never saw finished, ....probably because the builder realized how bad it looked.

You get the same weird fit trying to put '67-68 Camaro clip on a '69 Camaro body.

Yeah I see it youíre right that looks awful nothing matches

Does anyone make a kit or is it possible to put the larger 67-68 grill/bumper on the 69. Itís a much nicer look than the small grill/bumper and 4 headlights

I think you are out of luck there.....just about zero customer demand in the market for this for any vendor to think they'll make any profit on providing such a "kit"....you might be the only one in the country at this date and time looking for said "kit".

If you like the look of the '67-68 style better, just buy a '67-68 Car rather than spend a bunch of time trying to figure out how to cobble one up onto a '69 body.

The question you are asking is just like asking for a '71 Mustang nose to fit a '64....or a '70 Corvette nose to fit a '63.....both of which would also look ridiculous.

Are you good at body work?? If so, approach it like a 1950's lead sled Custom where anything is possible with enough time, cutting, welding, leading hammering mud shaping and sanding to build your own vision.....You can be the next Ed Roth("RatFink").......that's the only way your going to achieve this....or pay the $$$ to have a shop do it for you.

Just put a Camaro nose on it.:D 67-67 will bolt right on same years, and 69 will fit 69 Firebirds.
Did one 30 years ago, put a 67 Camaro front clip on a 67 Firebird that had front end damage. Camaro was easier to find, so that was the way we went. Most folks thought the Firebird tail lights were some kind of custom lights, most never made the connection.
