So I've been thinking about reducing as much weight as possible for my Chevy C 10. I've heard that the original tanks are very unreliable when it comes to reading how much gas you have left, and they are also heavy. How much lighter is a fuel cell ? My only thing would be that it would look kind of tacky just sitting in my bed. Trying to keep my check as original as possible but if I could shave 50 or 60 pounds I'll do it

You won't be shaving much weight.
I doubt the tank itself weighs 50 lbs.
If it's 20 ga, I'd say 35 lbs.
18 ga...................43 lbs.
The fuel cell weighs??
Check the difference between the two.

If you're trying to get a light vehicle, you sure started with a bad one.
My 76 weighs in at 4500 lbs.

This 22 gallon Jazz Cell with bladder sitting on my shop floor weighs 17lbs. I have no idea what your tank weighs.
