All of the gen III & gen IV are collectively called LS1 or LSX but the actual engine may be an Lq9, Lm4 or whatever. It could also be a 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0...etc. Best way to tell exactly what you have is to get the VIN from the donor vehicle and look it up.

They are called "LS based, LS family", but they are not LS.
The truck engines are called Vortecs. (not sure about the newer ones)

The LH6 is called exactly that, an LH6

LS engines

Here is a picture of my '39 with the LSX logo.

So, exactly what is your question? I guess I missed something. Are you asking about interchanging intakes?

It's not an LS motor, it's a truck motor. Intake manifold and accessories will be different.
Oil pan as well.

Parts are different but MOST will interchange such as oil pan, intake and water pump. Heads on early LSX and late LSX have different intake shaped ports, care must be taken to match the type of port to the intake when swapping.

OK, the LH6 is a replacement for the LM4 which is also an aluminum block. According to my research the LH6 is a cathedral port head so the "LS1" style 5.7 intake will fit. Search around and you should be able to find an intake for under $200. The oil pan can be replaced by many other shorter pans. Again, research and you should find what you are looking for. Go with the stock GM parts because they are cheaper.
