31 model a coupe

I want to reconfigure my trunk area. I'd like to make it bigger by rearranging how the water is drained from the rain gutters. Any ideas?

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Post pictures of what you have now - that will help. You can remove the bottom gutter and make a smaller one - have a hole in each corner with a drain hose. That would open that area up, but it will take some building and body work.

You can't do much with the side or top/forward gutters. The one formed with that panel across the bottom/rear can be straightened a bit to be more perpendicular, but for the amount of work, very little gain. That area has to drain, and it does via holes in the end of that rear, lower piece. If the floor is a slanted for a rumble seat, that can be flattened pretty easily if not needed and gain a lot more useable floor space. If you have a gas tank in the trunk instead of the cowl tank, consider either the 'Tank's Inc' saddle tanks or modify the rear of the frame for a '32 tank - not easy or even cheap, but works great. See Dagel's website or do it yourself as I did using easily available materials.
