Thanks for the reply. Your wires are red, green, tan and purple. Do you know which of your colors are ground? Figuring that red is power. I wonder how those colors would correspond to my red, yellow, black, and white?
Worked on an Isuzu once, wires changed colors at ever connection throughout the car. Was a real joy to find a short/open in it.

Buddy at salvage yard called today. He got a 2008 versa in so I went and got the whole steering column. Included is a pic of what I was asking about. Notice how the wire colors change from one side of the connector to the other. Don't know why Japanese do this but I've seen it a lot over the years.

Completed the EPS install on my straight axle 41 Willys. It's a pure pleasure to drive now, especially in slow tight turns. It is a great help to a handicapped person. Handles great on the roads and at the track. Used one out of a 2008 Nissan Versa. Having a brother that is a gunsmith with lathes and milling machines was a big help.

Just out of curiosity, can you hear it when it's working?

No. The only sound I hear, if the car is not running, is a click about 10 seconds after I turn the key on. The car is way to loud to hear anything when it's running. lol I have turned the wheel with the car not running and heard nothing.

This would be something I've considered adapting my my race car. Do you know how much it weighs?

I have no idea of weight. I can say it's not much at all. My guess would be 5-10 lbs. I'm not concerned with weight at my age.Don't even have a bathroom scale. lol

Do you have any issues with steering return ability. Meaning when you come out of a turn, does the steering wheel goes back to center ?

No, it doesn't return. Doesn't really bother me though. Haven't tried it yet but maybe a switch to turn it on and off? I only have one good arm so I like to have control of a car. lol
