36 ford installed side engine cover

Hey guys is there a kit if you want to eliminate the side engine covers and just put the hood on alone?
or do you just attach it to the grille and rear by the cowl?

Don't you have already have inner Fenders (that the Hood registers to)? I don't completely understand your question-

There are more than a few choices to do so-

You can use your Hood Tops as they are,and take the lowers off-

Or,you can buy an one piece Hood (from someone like Rootlieb), and either lift it off (if needed), or put a forward tilting option on it:

FAST FORWARD HOOD HINGE INSTALLATION

Or, as you already have the Radiator support rods (there are options here as well), you can run without a Hood completely (as I am doing)-your imagination is your only limit-

I installed sliding pins in both sides of the hood. When you remove the side panels there is a channel in the hood top. That's where the pins go. Then I drilled holes in the cowl and installed grommets to slide the pins into.
It worked great for me.

Again, more than a few ways to do this-my favorite:

Or, there are single and triple latching Hood opening kits:

3336 Triple Opening Hood Hinge System

You can also use quicklatches:

As 454 Rattler has mentioned there are some great home brewed Hood latch ideas (that are virtually hidden)-again, your choices are only limited by your imagination-
