Hi,
Look for a different engine, I had a three car carrier with one of these engines in it, it has a lot of torque, won't rev very high &
used way to much gas, it is a truck engine.

Take a good look at the pistons that come in this engine. You'll understand why it's a tall block.

Hold out for a 396 or better still a 454 is my opinion.

Don`t waste your time on a 366. As said these engines are work truck engines and don`t make any horsepower as they are designed to make torque. Since the deck is taller and the heads sit up higher you won`t find a set of headers that will fit unless they are custom made. These engines use the classic formula for a torque engine, long stroke, small choked up bore.

When I get a 366 in. I remove the main caps, pull the crank and rods. Trash the remainder.

The main caps are used to convert two bolt blocks. The crank is steel and can be used in any 3.76 based build. The rods make good street/mild race rods with a bolt change and size job.
