*5.3 Vortec Dress up*

I have a 2001 5.3 Vortec in my 49 Chevy pickup. Other than headers it is stock. I'm looking for some ideas on dressing this engine up just a little. Nothing to elaborate as I want to keep the cost down.

Looks pretty good to me. Put some valve cover, covers on it, clean up the wiring a bit and call it a day.

5.3 dress

The intake is ugly to say the least. What I did was to smooth it out and color matched it to the car. If you have someone in your area that's good with an air brush some theme could be put on it. Did some color matching of the valve covers also. Put billet fuel rails on too.

Hard to make the LS look visually good unless you go to some kind of coil pack relocation kit....I've seen them that mount the coils on the firewall but don't know where they came from, some of the racers use them.
That way you'd be able to at least see a polished aluminum or chrome valvecover set and get a bunch of rather ugly components and wiring out of direct first look view..

Cleaned up the intake, upper plenum and throttle body can all look pretty good, I hate those plastic covers.
