I think Madd Syntst had a posting that turned a newer T-bird into a '50 Ford. I saw one finished in the local Muscle Car Trader magazine and it actually looked pretty sharp. It looked like a sectioned '50.

f/g Merc' body

Saw an article a few years back that showed Gene Winfield doing a Merc'; although I believe it was a '49 or '50. It showed them pulling the body out of the mold in a small park possibly across from his shop. Not sure what mag it was in - so not much help that way - but you could call him and inquire about it. Can't locate phone # right now but I'm sure it's in a few mags.

Ok,just a couple of days ago I was looking at a 49/51 conversion on a 89 T-Bird Super Coupe but I can't find the site. I do know that there was mention of an article on this conversion in Kit Car magazine. Maybe you can find something there. Hope this helps you find your way.

'51 Merc f/g body

Didn't think he was in my garage and saw my molds - so I checked out where bukweet probably saw the ad. It's at: Hotrodders.com - in 'Hot Rod Search' / 'Hot Rod Parts' / bodies and body parts - #14 on the list - <EasyRods.com>
I still haven't located Winfields' phone number - but I will keep looking. Where are you located? If you're close enough - take a ride out there and see them

Call Gene Winfield who handbuilds fiberglass 50 and 51 chopped, frenched and shaved Mercury bodies. He is one of the best customizers on the planet.
His number is 661 824 4728. - mark m

Not only that, but they posted the same phone number and source as kevin45 did.....4 years ago...

Hahahahaha
Does someone have a problem reading the whole thread?
Further evidence that California's "No child left behind" program doesn't work.

'51 Merc

Hey - thanks guys (mikey and Aaron); for seeing the same problem as I see it. I've got the molds; I can make a body at any time. I wasn't the one asking to buy a body (MARKM and MRBIGHOTROD) ; I just GAVE a name; didn't have the phone number to offer to '51mercm'. Let's let this thing drop right here. I'm hesitant to say what other molds I have because I don't need any info on where to buy a finished body.
