Thinking I may have to make some measurements and compare to some other cars to find what I need.

Are those in your doors? And they just aren't working well, is that why are are asking about them? Because if you HAVE those, the whole problem may be in the odd spring like thingie that holds it in place when the door is open.

As I remember mine were worn pretty bad. But like I said, the right door "locks" open pretty damn good, you have to give it a good yank to pull it from full open, and you have to give it a pretty good shove to get it out there. I drop my daughter off at school every day in this car and she can do it but she has to want to, push it open all the way to hold it open.

Get the thing out of the door if you have it and check out that spring. As I remember it was riveted in the door with two rivets, one to each side of the arm coming through the door.

It may very well be the exact ones as my Rambler used. Post a photo of it with measurements and I think I have one I can check and see if it's the same and I have an AMC parts place that probably has them.
