I posted a series of pics of a '65 Mustang at work earlier this year that I started with the A pillars, roof and quarters... anything can be saved if you have the determination.....and someone else's money...:D

I prefer the '55-56 Nomads over the '57. To me, the '57 wings look out of place on a wagon...

No 55 or 56,,s wagons or nomads all sedans an a couple hardtops

Sorry John off topic.

Not a problem. Just saw an unrestored 53 Merc convert for sale toward Nashville. Thank goodness it was priced out of my range. It could have been my dream car. :drunk:

I spent some time grinding welds today. Brian is right. We should not be expected to show our 200 spot welds we make for a distortion free panel repair.

I started making my inner rocker panels today. I replicated the factory bead rolls for no good reason other than I could.

If you don't have a set yet, get a set of shrinker/stretcher jaws first. They are so useful.

Very cool, but John, how do we know YOU are doing this work? It may be your neighbors garage and you don't even own a car!

Hmmmmm

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I can use the bead roller at work if I need one. Any brand you recommend for the shrinker/stretchers ??

You know it may be a good thing David came up to see it. Without David (496Chevy3100) I would have had no witnesses. :D

I really don't know. I bought mine 25 years ago. They were one of the first sets I ever saw. I do know this though, you have to buy a set with 2 heads and not just 2 sets of jaws. You would go crazy changing out the jaws. Also, the guys with the foot operated ones really like them but I have gotten along well with my lever operated ones. The foot operation would let you use both hands which would be nice but you can live with out it.

Of all the metal working tools the jaws are probably the coolest thing I have.
