67-ish style flags are a shoe-in next edit. As are regular whitewalls, tail light lenses, add license guard thingy, shave rocker moldings, gas flap guard, gravel guards, and fender ornaments. How about that funky mirror?

Oh and probably the most important thing, Barry's actual red! I did not pick the best starting point pic, not knowing my lead sleds nor reds very good.
LOL, While you are shedding chrome junk add ons, shed the door handle guard too.

The mirror is ok but you might move it back 4 inches. ...........and just maybe darken the accent stripe just a hair too.

The window tint is really good! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Just pickin on ya buddy. I like it if you don't change anything. I don't know how much work is involved in what you have done nor how difficult it is to change things. That means I also don't know at what point my nit picking becomes unfair to you. Don't let it not be fun to fool with.

Alls I gots to do is find my round tuit. My pleasure, sir. In the meantime, heap 'em on. Lets get the whole bag o trix on there so's I can whip it up. One thing, I've had trouble because the bucket pics don't show on my junk once I download them. Its been murder trying to get images on yours so I am all ears. Kinda internet handicapped using tiny devices but I work the pics on a lightning hit won't connect desktop.

Stockish, haha, There are some that are pretty valuable in original form (IE the 409 2-4, 4 speed impala) those usually go back original. The more common cars and trucks are usually have a little more freedom. We do whatever someone is willing to pay for, but we try to stay close to how it came. Sorry for the intrusion Mr John. The 53 is still moving right along I see. Your patience and dedication never ceases to amaze me.

It's all good Kelley. This thread is 40% build thread, 20% tutorial, 30% social gathering spot and I don't know what the last 10% is. The important thing is we all enjoy checking in once in a while.

John, moving the mirror on this particular pic would be a booger bear, its up off in the middle of everything and I can't even tell what it really looks like, so...

Other than that, well let me know what I missed or forgot. The idea here is if this were professional work, once all alterations were correct, then a tighter rendering would follow because realism suffers with every go-around at least for me. This is a step beyond thumbnail but I think its getting warmer.

Out the door at five on a Monday!

Glad you like it, John. Theres a couple things I see that I forgot to do. Also forgetting to use the larger version for this round of editing. Der. I'd like to swap a background too. Theres this though... yours is the first one that I have not had to mask off the body color. As you've been known to say of real projects, its the journey. On these too. You're almost to BelAir now.

I wasn't happy with the gravel guard shaves. Forgot to shade the front one enough but at the rear I didn't know what kinda bend is in the quarter underneath it so if you see a smear there its fudge from me fudging as I have in other spots. AAMOF the tails and tag guard are made completely of fudge fiction.

And... the flags! I forgot the stinking badges.

Well, I think it is great. It sure is cool to see the "vision" !

I do think I would like to see the 454 flags...about where the '57 Chevy fuely emblems would go?

Yessir. The panel shape might be an issue but just guessing there would look best at least from a side view. The proportions will be a total shot in the dark though so that could skew it. If you had any old set of flags to hold up there for reference... hmm. Maybe Mitch could measure some but on the computer measuring is a guess the way I'm doing it. We know a decal won't cut it! The only other spots I see would be out front where cars that had them wore them, or where the fuelies were but below the molding instead. You got a pic of how the quarter looks under the gravel guard? I can't tell if its one piece.

Once I had a look at how far off the first one was, I wanted to throw an hour at it and today's was where I landed and I hoped it was far enough along to yeah... give you a vision. Glad I made it!

Hey Matt. One thing. If you do play with this again. Can you put the stainless gravel shields back on the quarter panel in front of the rear wheel? I just bought an NOS rh one a few weeks ago. I will run those.

John

Oh! That solves a problem for me, its what I was asking about. Fronts no, rears yes. Got it. I would want those too, they define it as a 53.

I really like the version without the gravel shield but I really think it needs to be there. That quarter panel is sticking out there like a catchers mitt.

you have done great on mine and Brian's both!
