I was actually alright with one of those. Long forgotten technology just like all the cool toys at Grandma's. My favorite was actually the things about the size of a Pla-Doh can that made farm animal sounds when inverted. More my speed, see? Shoulda done John's edit with my busted etch-a-sketch.

I am actually messing with the pic right now, putting the top color in the stripe (I think I went backwards on that) and seeing what I got for flags. Might get fudged flags, we'll see. Coming soon. Back to John's activities before I hog up too much thread practicing. Going for a final version but pfft...

Alright then... heres ol wheel:

Better put the top up, Mr. John.

I did trim colors looking at your swatch pic this time, might be more like it. Fixed a couple me things and forgot the door handle guards a freakin gain but... you gained a slice of dramatic sky and the bottom one has a shrunken BBC billet serp setup as flags in the only place that I could tolerate them once I started trying the places I said. So. Aside from the handle guards, I did what I came to do. So whether theres another remains open. Glad to be some sort of help, you are always welcome to it, sir.

Thanks, man. Size was a guess. It would be best to look at firsthand for proportions on that. I appreciate the real world exercise, it has taught me stuff.

I wonder how the flag emblem would look in the insert next to or instead of the belair emblem..kinda like the 57 fulie or Black widow.
I dont know wht some were mounted on the front and some on the rear,,
but i think the emblems or Just the flags would look great in the rear quarter trim panel,,just my opinion, for all that is worth.

He said he had some 1" whitewalls. I changed these from wide whites without just taking tires from another pic, thats why they are sloppy. Just saying so in case you were trying to get me to look closer. I can certainly put better looking ones on there but decided the quickest easiest way was best. The edited pics are only good for a glance, just overgrown thumbnails.

I'll me too to that. I thought maybe the right ones would be cool as hood and trunk badges. They would provide an excuse for a little hand pinstriping if he is into that.

But I think the actual emblems are even smaller than the BBC representing them in my edit. Panel curvature might shoot all these places in the foot though. Thats why I decided to try to catch probably just the one little flat enough spot where it could go. Putting flags in the insert might look busy was my thought there, I liked how another badge balanced things a little somehow. FWIW, to me... the car with the flags looks more sporty, and the difference is more than an emblem should make.

I would also not be opposed to standalone 454 numbers, kinda like the bottom half of an SS454 emblem. That font borders on being outside of the period look but would tie in the air cleaner decal. and not clash too bad. Heck just a 73-80 truck grille 454 emblem on the corner of the trunk lid or something might do, too. Fun stuff to speculate on.
