I asked him today. He said he was still kind of getting used to it but said he liked it. He also said it was the easiest clear he had ever tried to blend.

He painted the front fenders with it last week. Up to this point, I had done most of the painting even though he had done all the hard work.

Steve has proven one thing. He does not need supervision for sure. Between my eye surgery, both Barb and I being sick, and another good friend passing away, I have not seen Steve or the car for a couple of weeks. He should get the hood and final trim pieces painted this week and he has compounded the rest of the body. It is still not been final polished but it looks good... Very good.

When I got there he was getting the hood ready for final priming. It was a bit rougher than either of us realized. :)

I know these pictures are similar to others that have been posted but seeing it come alive under the buffer sure does make my heart go pitter patter.

I'll tell you one thing guys. This car is not perfect but it is very good.it would be hard to find a car that started off in poorer shape and has become a very good, solid, quality car. This car should give good service for years to come. As long as I will be needing it for sure.

Thank you.

I started this car the end of May 2013. I told my wife I wanted a project that would keep me busy and give me a feeling of accomplishment. It has been a long 6 year project but it has provided everything I hoped it would.

You guys here on the forum have provided a lot of the motivation and support along the way. I don't normally get terribly connected to my cars but there is definitely emotion when I go back and review the journey. It's not all about the car either.

I have gained friends along the way. I have become very close to Barry over at SPI. Most of you know this car was finished 100% with SPI products with the exception of the interior champaign color. The support I received from Barry was just amazing not to mention the quality of his products.

I have personally met Pugsy, Mitch, David, and spoken to others on the phone. If it weren't for the car, I do believe my life would be for the worse.

Life is good guys. What a blessing to have lived the life I have.

I have been so busy lately, I have only been up to Steve's once in the last 2+3 weeks. As I was leaving yesterday he said, "by the way, I have really grown to like the SPI clear. It really buffs well. I have also found it sprays really well if I keep my gun close."

Another SPI fan is walking the earth. :D:D:D

I, for one, have also become a Steve Minnick fan. He has really stepped up to the plate for me.

Tim and Christine came in for thanksgiving. It has been a really good visit and Tim volunteered to go up to Steves today and help put in the windshield.

Easily done is not how it went but we got it in there in one piece. It took 5 hours and we had it in and out twice but nothing succeeds like success. It is in and fits well. As some of you guys will remember, there was extensive repair work done to the cowl and windshield frame. I was concerned about the fit. It was good to see it fit well.

Many thanks to both Tim and Steve.

Oh, one more thing. The hood is now red and Steve is getting a good start on buffing it. :D

You should have stopped. Both Tim and I would have been glad to have gotten a chance to say hi. I'm sure Steve would have too.

Steve and I put the hood on the car Monday and managed to install the springs today. Once we got the springs on it (which was tuff) it not only adjusted well but also the springs hold it up well.

Good day!
