After we got the two pieces formed to fit the radius of the corner I tack welded them in.

We dressed them and did a little tweaking and walla, there you have a door corner.

We ran out of time tonight and The kids are going home in the morning. If my back continues to get better I will finish the bottom of the door and the other corner.

Here is the new corner with a shot of the crusty piece we cut out.

I am not sure I mentioned I got down in my back and this was something we could do without having to crawl under and over the car. Also it was something Tim could get involved with where there was a finished project that we could feel good about. It has been a fun change of pace.

Thanks much. It is very satisfying to do something like this and know it is done right and will give the service you are looking for.

It was a fun day.

This happened to me yesterday when I posted something on another thread. I went back to look and it wasn't there. I thought I had messed up when I hit post, but it wouldn't back up for me so I could do it again saying it was a duplicate post, I went back there starting at the forum page and it wasn't there, WTH? I left hotrodders and came back and there it was.

It is so damn cool to see real life stuff you can do with that stretcher/shrinker! I love watching this thread John, it is so inspiring!

Exactly......I need to build a table for my shrinker/stretchers and start practicing making things like this. It will be nice to be able to reproduce inner structure that isn't available for some of my cars.

And I have this fancy English Wheel just sitting here collecting dust too...

Thanks Brian. You guys really motivate me to go down and get my 5 minutes in. The feedback I get is priceless and I know you feel the same way, knowing how much we are enjoying what you are getting done on the truck.

This forum has become such a pleasant part of my daily routine. Pretty cool.

I made a HUGE mistake when I got my shrinker stretcher in that I saved money by just buying the one body planning on changing the dies back and forth when I needed to, DUMB, you have to go back and forth too much, that was sooooo dumb.

I bolted mine to a piece of angle iron that I put in the vice. But having a stand would be so nice.

It is pretty neat to see these projects in the works. I am amazed at how different they all are, and how different guys go about doing things and even how different the garages are. It's really been fun seeing it all.

Speaking of that other body for my stretcher, I bought this one from Eastwood about 20 years ago, what are the chances I can pick up the other body still? Are they sort of a "standard" where they interchange?
