76 Corvette steering wheel change

I am helping my buddy get his 76 vette back on the road.
1 of the items he is doing is changing the steering wheel.
the 76 model is unique & he bought an adapter & new wheel but we are confused as to how it all goes together.

I did a net search but there is not much to help, if anyone did this or has pics of the assembly it would be appreciated

I have gone through this on my 76 Vette and it is a one year only column and there is more to it than just an adapter.

thanks guys. yes this is a one year only affair.

we already have the adapter kit ( exactly like the one in the link that was posted here) for this telescoping column.

however there is no sleeve to hold horn contact like on the original column and the ring spacer looks to be in the way of the 6 screw holes to mount the steering wheel when installed.

so again, help......................

To be honest with you I haven't changed mine over yet as things have gotten in the way, recovering from prostate surgery being the main reason.

dang, you just need to walk away for a while & then come back to the problem.

1st, all you need is the adapter kit to change the steering wheel on a 76 Vette with tilt & telescoping column.

2nd, it assembles just a bit different then the factory set up plus you need to remove the telescoping spring/horn plate from the factory wheel to use UNDER the adapter hub.

our trouble was thinking the new unit would be assembled in the same order as the factory parts, not so.

thanks to all for your help.
here is a pic of the completed job:
