83 chevy 1/2 ton 700r4 to th350 swap?

i am switching to a th 350 and was wondering on what exactly i will need to swap. i am told only the kickdown. will all the lines fit? i bought a modulator for the th350 and it looks a little bigger than the one on it? is this normal? also the dipstick i was told i can use the 700r4 one but will have to fill tranny with 11 quarts and mark. how do i completely drain the trannies fluid. any help for this parttime backyard mechanic would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

If you got a T350 from a '73-'87 long-bed truck or a '73-'91 Suburban, it should have a 9" tailshaft housing. This trans is the same length as a 700R4, so your driveshaft length should be OK. You may need to change the yoke, however. Modulator appearance varies from one maker to another.

I could be wrong, but that crossmember the 700r4 used might not fit the th350 correctly. Might have to look in some junk yards to find a correct one.

The speedometer cable should fit with no problem.
