$88.88 air compressor

I picked up a cheapo mini aircompressor for my Dad today, he needed something he could move around easily that would handle the air supply needs of a touchup gun used in his woodwork projects. Advance Auto Parts had this listed in a recent sales flyer at $88.88 and it's rated at 2HP with an air supply rating of [email protected] with a 110 power supply. The air supply sounded like enough for what he needed so I bought it and took it home for testing. I've got to say for the price and size I am really impressed how this little jewel works. I turned it on, plugged a hose in and dialed in the regulator. It keeps up with a touchup gun without problem. I loaded my gun with paint and shot a firewall and dash with it with no problems. Then I plugged in a standard sized gun and filled it with water and ran it nonstop till the cup went dry noting the air pressure. Although it's not large enough for continual use with a full size gun it would be fine for most primer work in my opinion. With a touchup gun painting small parts, motorcycles, and single panels it works just fine.

Bottom line is, if someone on a budget wants to work on their ride it can be done with tools like this.

something to pass along and remember is the little vent hole on some of those constantly spews oil mist into the air and can cause paint related problems if running in the paint area.. Fisheye problems have been traced back to that source.
