? about hydroboost brakes

Hello NEW HERE.
Although I don't have a hot rod, I have been searching forums and have seen in this forum in the past, with threads on adding hydroboost. I have had a kit for a while and am finally getting ready to add it to my 60 Plymouth Suburban.

I was wondering if when added, do I need to reinforce the firewall? With the master cyl. it weighs around 25 lbs. Although on 4 bolts to the firewall, that still seems like a lot.

Again sorry to crash your forum but I hope you can help with some info. Although its not a hot rod, it still is an interesting car.

Thanks and HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Karl.

well... hydroboost will have less pedal pressure for the same amount of braking
so i'm going to say no to additional reinforcement on the firewall
my hydroboost is frame mounted on my 58 truk so i can't go further into it

Long Roofs are hotrods/kustoms too! Yours looks a little bit mild kustom; so there is NO shame in sticking around; we are VERY happy to have you to be honest (TBH).

Here's a really good article concerning the installation of hydraboost from an Astrovan………..
Converting to Astro Hydroboost | NastyZ28.com

And in my opinion, any changes from stock on ANYTHING turns it into a HOT ROD.....and that is a beautiful old hot rod wagon. Welcome.....
