big brakes

i have a39 pontiac sedan with a fat man mustang 2 front suspension. it has mid size gm rotors about 11 inch, and i upgraded to big bore calipars. but it still not stoping good. i have 5and 10 pound valves on the brake line and a proportion adjusting valve.what i want to do is put bigger brakes on, 13inch rotors and bigger calipars from a big ford or gm car. anybody know what car might work that would go on that spindle. tired of buying high buck stuff, id like to get it from junk yard

11" rotors with big bore calipers (I assume these are the 2.75" pistons) should stop that car just fine - that system has no problems on a 4500 lb car. If those are the calipers you have, they are the same ones used on the large 1970s B/C-body cars. What size M/C bore do you have? A smaller bore in the M/C will increase brake force at the calipers. Is this power or manual brakes? What is the pedal ratio?

Proper brake design requires matching all aspects of the system, not just throwing parts at the car.
