Chevy Camaro SS question

Hey guys, do you know if Chevy ever sold a 1968 Camaro ss with a 6 cyl special order ? I purchased a 1968 SS and the third # is 3 . A 6 CYL. and Chevy said if the third vin # is 3 that it is not an SS. The third vin # would be # 4 . If one of you guys could find out I would appreciate it. Thanks deno---

This...If the complete VIN says it was originally a 6 cylinder Camaro then you can guarantee it was not an SS so be sure to check the VIN......came fromHere

Hey 1ownerT, I have a coppy of that, but the seller told the judge that the car could have purchased as a special order with the 6 cyl. engine.

If I remember right, the SS package was a trim package until about 68. It could be had with any engine. Starting in 68, it became more of a performance package...with the big blocks and all that.
