Post Conv Top Replace-How to?

I'm trying to find instructions or article on replacing a convertible top on my 1969 Cougar. I can't seem to find any info on the net so far. Anybody know of a site address covering this topic? I'm not afraid to try this and can't afford to have a shop do it. The old top is original as is the whole car. None of my hundreds of hotrod mags cover this topic, except building a carson top. Please help if you can. If this doesn't work I'll try my luck at the library. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I feel sure you can order a new top from some old car parts house, or maybe even from the dealer.
Once you have the top on hand, an upholstery shop should be willing to install it for a reasonable fee.
By the way, I mean the fabric part of the top when I say "new top".
If this is not in your budget for now, use the old reliable..multiple coats of duct tape.
Best of Luck!

Go to the "Google" search engine and type in 'Installing a convertible top'. Got 9,370 hits and lots of them looked helpul. I have to do this later in the year myself, so thanks.
