Its the BumbleBat!

Thanx. Yep, 4 to go all around. From the first mock up, the desired ride height was rockers at 5 3/4" from the ground.

It will be cartoonish in person.

I need to whisk in there at lunch with some tape and a marker and label everything bat this and bat that. Just like the Bat Cave. Ha.

I just decided I am going to memorize the launch sequence for the 66 Batmobile . Then randomly one day when the perfect time comes and Mike is sitting in it close to startup time... I'll plop down on the other side and recite with straight face, to the letter. Maybe I'll just happen to have flash cards ready with his lines.

The idea of using a Model A's grille opening shape on a '32 grille shell (with grille bars shortened to fit) was an idea I hatched during blue-sky discussions with owner, boss, and coworker which got favorable response from all parties. I can edit pics to show the idea or remain silent and hope it ends up with plain deuce shell and grille. My thought is to cut down a 32 grille.

I would appreciate your thoughts if you have any. If I am not sold on it, I won't bother rendering it. Mike thinks its a good idea. We would gain the sexy 32 shape but still "read as" a Model A coming at you. I intend to just bring the top of the deuce opening down until it "says" A. A chrome outline like the A has would define the opening.

Thanks in advance.

Not much opinion either way here....they all look the same to me. When I walk up to a car of that era, I look for badges so I know what I'm looking at.

I did find this thread though:

Oh, I see. Lord, help us... its a TCI frame. Each piece has to be custom made for each car and each car can only look good to one person. Wonderful! Rodders hate me.

Maybe the thing to do is hush and see if I get asked for an image.

I just asked Mike and now I "understand". Every body part must be in place and perfectly aligned and adjusted, with wheels and tires to be used in place, properly inflated and with stance carved in stone with all weight of all parts to be used on the car plus a sandbag of similar weight to a full cooling system and also gas and passenger weights added then mock up brackets must be made to hold the grille shell to be used. Then four people must evaluate the appearance from fifty feet away or more and unanimously approve positions of all areas of the body... then a radiator can be designed.

Why would anyone want that. Make mine muscle.

Did some searching, looks to me like a variant of the 32 Ford grille shell exists which may be original or aftermarket but has the look I envisioned except for the radius of one curve. And the ones like that which I saw have an ornament and radiator cap hole. Might as well cancel our order if possible and just make one if everyone wants to stick with that idea. The grille shell shown in my pics thus far seems to be a 31. Be a good idea to have the grille itself, I guess, before making the shell. I don't relish the thought of trying to explain at work. Good Monday type stuff.

Shower thought: Not one person who reads this owns a Ford. What am I doing here?

Yeah naw this new grille shell don't fit cars with frames-

This is 6" backspace on the rear, its a little much-

Last time you saw this it wasn't so "in the weeds"-

Why show it again, you say? I don't know if the aftermarket chassis is here. Willing to bet it is my next victim. Belongs to husband of Biscayne lady. Couldn't post this without that. Here is a queen sized crate relevant to it-
