Well, you know the drill... If I am working on it, it is something that no other shop would touch. I am just glad it fit. Now to go find out if I am done with it.

Why would most of the aftermarket parts you buy have a sticker that says Toyota?

Just the RDOT on the sticker and whatever the manufacturer it is for. Loosely perceived to represent reproduction body part meeting dot regulation... can't find anything definitive on the code, so could be anything.

I did about an hour of pretty-up and cleanup, shuffled stuff around and am attempting to relocate my groove.

Hell, too late for that. I already be done did something.

I am out the door first whiff of VOCs I catch. Theres gas in Grape and its sunny so when I get home its take a spin time.

The Lexy doesn't quite have 68,000 miles on it yet so that removes some absurdity from that deal. Noticed when I moved it.

Same deal with Blue Bu, or it wouldn't be worth rebuilding either. Less than 70k and clean CA car when I got it a few years ago.
Enjoy the sun. It's sunny here too, but only 35 degrees and gonna go down hill fast after this weekend. Forecast is for double digits BELOW the zero next week...

Serious? Brrr. Its in the 40s here but inside a car that feels good.

I remember (yeah, right) in '85 selling my 72 SS and getting a car to serve me through school in Dallas... the gold 67 Imp with 64,000 on her. A/C still worked! More than I can say about the current junks.

Theres no substitute for low mileage. Its the cream puff factor that varies.

This needs a lot more mud than I see here-

Pantera guy sure is happy-

Mike isn't as happy. Says they lost his pattern and the Catalina tank is all wrong-

Pretty though, ain't it?

Heres a truck we flamed on a long time ago that I always take a pic of.

Somebody else is going to get epoxy on that Model A right quarter and I am about to start on the left. The right is ready to install after epoxy.

Alright, Bucko.

Happy days are here again.

All weld, all afternoon. Ah, how pleasant.

Heres the right quarter with the rattle can stuff knocked off. I had forgotten to weld the tub inner flange on but that just took a few minutes. Painter got epoxy on it which you'll see later. Hoping he did inside and out-

Left tub and flange welded-

Mo' muddy-

Mike got his mind around that gas tank... they just made it a little differently than he anticipated. Next thing you know, there'll be a soupity sounding Pontiac engine thumping around the buildings. Mmm, Pontiaction.

We need a model to go with that aaaayyyy!

Right quarter was obviously dropped (bottom front) but here it is-

Thats on with screws but for keeps-

Left tub weld all smoothed out-

Left drip rail welded. About to sand it and hand it... to the painter for epoxy. Gave him the trunk bulkhead and board brkts also, while the getting is good.

Left quarter did not get primer priority today so I will go at the cowl area next.

Currently fixing shaggy bottom corners of the rear window panel. What an eyesore those have been all this time!

Yep, not much standing in my way this week. Footloose is enjoying the Lex Luther job less. It got primer today.

It is fun going together for good. As long as I didn't leave myself messes that I forgot about, this should go smooth. At least right up until the roof insert.
