Look! At the clean little organ donor, she is straight

...out of Oklahoma.:) Kids... meth is a powerful drug, see?

It would be that way in something you need a rear panel off of.:pain: Nothing like being sick over Christmas, right? Lord, help us. Bless Joe for cleaning that out.

Step right this way to the eyebleach station folks. Watch your step around the puke.

Hahahaha! Ah. Dang inconsiderate Ford owners.

I'm so frugal, I worked half a day to save a quarter. Arm hurts now.

More new meat, a '65 "guess what"! Ha. Probably for Footloose. Big Mike has the Cat now. Back at it next Wednesday after the big birthday party.

That quarter looks good. I would've tried to save it too. A lot less work than removing 2 to replace 1.

It's interesting, of the 6 first gen Mustangs I've rebuilt, I've never had a fastback come in...

The 2+2 is my favorite of the early mustangs,,better than conv or coupe to me..

Gary's ride from way back is a 65 Fastback. It has a yellow supercharger. Another sits on death row, too far gone (seriously) and that red Eleanor clone I shaved firewall on was up in the buff / detail area. Mom had a 6cyl, low miles '68 when I was in HS. First and only time I drove a Fox body was in the 90s, drunk friend's LX 5 speed. First car I assembled all the way was a 70 Mach 1. First Mustang I rode in (Falcon loving uncle's, the one thats still alive) rode so bad, it created bumps in the road where there were none. The last time I got busted street racing, it was against a Fox body. The first time I saw a snake on a Mustang fender, it was at a red light and I threw revs at it but was obliterated (seperate incident). Thats about all my Mustang Stories and I'm sticking to them.

Anyone remember what the left quarter looked like on the white Fox body I fixed awhile back? The metal was ruined on it, was like working tin. This red Cobra has no overworked metal (one spot almost showed the first sign, so I stopped there) but kinda has the same lack of memory in the steel. If that makes sense. Wierd. That buckle was tough to unbuckle.

Scratch built a hot rod over Christmas break. That was sort of work.

Also recieved no less than half a dozen different kinds of gloves and half as many safety glasses and hand ratchets. Yesss!

Hung a hatch on the Cobra, did some pulling to correct this vertical support for the left gutter. All this stuff bends like a wet cereal box so I can do the rest in the flat stall.

After a cut to get the quarter and gutter separated from the rear body, I tried a side pull on the top rear tip of the quarter, and did some bumping with tension on it. Got what there was to get but its time to cut out what will be replaced and straighten the rest. Lid gap is fine all around except here and it will be easiest to fix after some cuts.

Impact absorbers were crusted to the car, requiring mallet persuasion. Access for the bolt on the right is a cruel joke. Gas tank in the way.

I have begun the harvest.

Too Many Projects 12-26-2018 07:31 PM

Just like an undertaker...harvesting usable body parts from a cadaver.......:D

idrivejunk 12-26-2018 07:47 PM

Its almost that nasty! I'm an automotive ghoul.

I am wanting to use a small piece of the quarter, just the couple inches ahead of the tail iight and up to include the top corner plus a small piece of the gutter... and have it cut loose out to there but await the official go ahead. We've decided to section the lower tail panel where it wraps underneath, for a less invasive and easier repair.

Cat is having bumpers fine tuned-

Heres a spanked bug-

Heres something you don't see every day... bottom of a fiberglass Bronco body shell.
