Dropped axle with dropped spindles? Spindle identification?

I bought my 41 with a dropped axle already installed with disc brakes etc... I know it has to be a conversion kit. What I am wondering is if anyone is using both dropped axle and spindles? Looking at my spindles, any idea what they are from? I didn't see any #s as to cross reference them.

Looks like pretty standard stuff what are you trying to do/fix.

You want dropped spindles ?

Do not think you will find those for an early model front axle.

Look closely you will understand why

The are mostly for later/newer independent suspensions.

I do think the fuel pump is not mounted correctly LMAO

Yeah, pesky fuel pump....I want 2 more inches dropped in front. If it is a Camaro kit, then they should offer dropped spindles I'm guessing?

You have 49 to 54 Chevy car spindles, or possibly the original 41 truck spindles, in any case there is no dropped spindles for either application. You could dearch the springs possibly.

I had the caliper replaced at a rod shop here in my town after it locked up at their shop. He mentioned a Camaro (not sure what year) if my memory serves me correctly. That's was like 10 years ago though, so I dont remember.

The brake rotor and caliper are converted Camaro parts...but the spindle is early Chevy car, as has been mentioned.
You're not going to find drop spindles for beam axles....when they want more drop they replace the tube axle with one having more drop, or heat and bend more drop into an I-beam axle, or re-arch the springs/reverse the spring eye.

Dropped spindles are strictly an independent suspension thing.

Loosing a couple of those leafs or installing super slide springs will drop that a bit.

To loose around another inch you can install some spring sliders in place of those shackles. Now these are a maintenance item. The HDPE (like $5 per side) will need to be replaced from time to time. But the sliders allow for a flatter spring and allow for some drop while reducing "twist".

Below is a video showing them going across uneven terrain.

Between the flatter springs and the sliders that front end should drop around 2".

don't u just love it when someone builds a custom car and does NOT maintain a book with parts and part numbers... ALLLLLL my builds i maintain a book... my memory sucks and in the last 3 cars i sold the new owners jumped up/down when i showed them the book.. if i sell the mustang i am thinking of just buy'n a finished model A rod.. but if no book.. no sale either...

No way is someone going to get those on a front end. Want to lower the front end, beyond the axle drop?

Cut the cross member out and re-wield it higher up into the frame.

years ago I put olds spindles on a ford type tube axle. new bushings reamed to fit ford kingpins. Amc bolt on spindles; lots of measurements needed,,, king pin to spindle stub angle ,,,kingpin dia and length ... steering arm clearance. etc.

I left this out, top picture shows the cross member. Moved and re-wielded flush with the top of the frame rails, 2'' drop there

OP front springs are longitudinal not transverse.
