Finally bought a bandsaw

I bought a Band saw and I did not at first because I had this bird on my shoulder: cheap cheap.Friday night finally made me do it,went to the ER bacause I cut my left pinky finger almost to the bone with a sawzall cutting a piece of 1/4 flat stock steel for a mount for my 1983 Monte Carlo which I was not paying attention to.I had stitches and healing up good.My husband nailed the sawzall blade to the wall to remind me.I bought the bandsaw from a guy for $200.00 which only cuts metal and will stay that way.

I'm very happy that you picked up a new tool @ a good price to play with, but not happy that you've injured yourself, Please be more careful, or the next thing you know your husband will have to do all the typing. Maybe he should put the blade on a necklace and have you ware it while working with power tools.
Take care

Unfortunately and new saw will not correct this. Power tools and metal are not forgiving stay alert would be my advise. Good luck to you.

Pretty cool you are the builder, is the husband involved in your project, or does he complain about you spending all your time and money on THAT car in the garage ......? LOL

Hope you got a good one, some of those cheapos can be impossible to tune and get cutting straight. It's not quite as clean but I use a chopsaw for most of my metal cutting and I just love the 4 1/2-5 inch cut off wheels, go through a couple of them a week. I'd love a bandsaw but just don't have the room for one.

I learned my lesson and pay attention now.It is an older model from the 1970s still in good shape, not a cheapee and taken care of very well. Was looked over 2 weeks, the blade was replaced since it was very dull.I got all the blades, owners manual and other parts in the deal.Did not pick this one up by hand, had my neighbor Randy come over with his John Deere Back hoe/front end loader to pick it up from the car trailer I transported it on.My neighbor Randy was happy,I got him a 12 pack of Bud Light in trade to do this for me.
