Fogged Headllight Lens Cover

My daughter has 99 Pontiac Grand Am and the headlight lens are fogged over (discolored). I think it is because the resin in the plastic breaks down in the presence of the Sun's ultra-violet rays. I' m wondering has anyone had success at getting the manufacturer to replace it based on poor material selection?

No one has as far as I know. All of the manufacturers have the same problem. That's what happens when they make the cars out of plastic. To me that would be about the same as getting them to replace body panels because they rust.

if you can get the lenses off some polishing compound usually cleans them up real nice
