Wouldn't it cost about the same to just buy one of those kits?

well that depends on whether or not you charge yourself for time....
i guess if you have the resources (lots of tools and shop space) then its a good way to go considering the personal satisfaction you get from knowing you did it yourself.

the cost of materials (althought highly inflated these days) is still a fraction of the cost of a complete kit.

my time is better used making money (working) so i work and pay other people (speedway) for my parts.

but for a guy who has the means and the time.....

Yes, i have made a t-bucket from these plans, there are California Custom Roadsters (tm) and they are copyrighted 1973, revised 1987...The copyright is at the bottom of the pages and is cut off in the downloads.

They are a general set of plans, and must be modified for anything other than a sbc, CCR figerglass body, short p/u bed, ect. Good set of plans, in general.

Whiting out the copyright doesn't change the fact the information is the intellectual property of Bill Keifer (author of the plans), but i don't think anybody is real picky about it at CCR, the more people that make one, the better their chances of selling you parts.

They're plans on how to build your own frame, your own dropped front axel, the whole suspsions setup, rear setup for a Jar rear as well as just a regular rear with coilovers. Bascially how to build the whole frame from scrach.
They have real life size patterns in there so you can cut out and use as template.
They're really helpfull, specially if you dont want to shell out big bucks for a dropped axel, it tells you how do do it for 1/3 the price!!!

PM me if interested.
