You got 3 choices if you want to set your carb with the float bowl to the front.
1. Get a clifford intake which turns the carb to the front.
2. Weld up the holes in the carb base plate that bolts to the intake and drill and countersink new holes.
3. Find a chunk of aluminum and make a base plate that bolts on to the intake and puts your carb in the direction you want.

For better fuel distribution your Offy intake is best. Puts your primaries directly in the middle. Hooking up your throttle can be a challenge depending on if you use a cable or a rod.

Time for a little common sense. The flow paths from the carb venturies to the cylinders are more even with the carb oriented "across" instead of "front-to-back". That's why the intake is designed that way.

my friend say to me ( him reason ):

1 and 2 bbl of primary in this mode :
engine
3 4
1 2

is good and best mode for fueling because 1-2 primary of the carb seating in center of intake and engine and Fueling to the left and right sides are equal.

but in this mode :
1 3
2 4

front of engine is closer to the carb and rear of engine is Farther to the carb !!! and center cylinders is very close to the carb !

in this mode :
3 4
1 2

center cylinders is A little farther to the primary bbl of the carb and fueling to the both sides and center is very good ...

Right on the money Joe, it's all about mixture distribution.

None of your choices are good.
While your last mode would work, it makes it hard to hook up your throttle and tv cable as the valve cover is in the way.
However rotating the carb so 1 and 2 are closer to the valve cover makes it easier to hook up your cables.
