Hunter 311 Alignment Machine

Is the Hunter 311 alignment machine good for a DIYer? Anything to look for when checking out to purchase?

Have a great day,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've watched the alignments with strings and levels on youtube and it doesn't appear that one could be that perfect with the end results. We are talking about a 1/16 and 1/2 degree sometimes. I think we have spoken thru other threads concerning these alignments. If I could get a respectable alignment I would just pay to have it done and would be more than happy. The problem is, I can't even get an alignment that's even close. I have several cars right now that chop the tires on the inside or the outside within 5 to 10 thousand miles. I am justifying the cost of the machine to the cost of 5 alignments. Around Indianapolis an alignment is 100 plus bucks. Maybe it's just something about me but businesses and contractors try to screw me if they can. I have many examples of attempts and even a couple that succeeded that we don't need to go into to now.

Yes, the 94 vette was taken to a GM dealership for an alignment twice. First time when I took the car in, the driver rear wheel was tilted in so much you could see with the naked eye. When I picked it up, it still had the problem, so back to the dealership the next day. Picked it up and the tire looked good with the eye but still had the inside tires continue to chop out. Each time I asked for printouts and never received.

Would really like to hear information reguarding the Hunter 311. It's updated to 2014 and they want $1,000 obo. Owner says the machine works good with no problems. Will be looking at it tomorrow.
