I'm sure this may be a revelation for some of you younger guys, but they didn't always have pneumatic tire changing machines. How do you think they changed truck and jeep tires in the field during war time? There's a reason why a tire iron has an edge on one end.

No one lives forever, the trick is creating something that will.

My dad taught me how to do that 50 years ago!!
No slide hammer to break the bead.
Use the bumper jack on the sidewall. Leave the foot off the jack.
Tire was toast anyway so wrecking the sidewall didn't matter.
A couple big screwdrivers and off it came.

Still have a pair of tire irons my dad gave me 50 years ago. I mostly used them on my dirt bikes, but have changed tires on my cars and trailers with them in a pinch. From what I saw in the video, I'd hate to see how scarred up those wheels were when he got done!

A little soapy water can make that process a whole lot easier.
