84 S-10 Drag Truck New to Racing

Hey Guys My Name is Mike I live in ray City Ga. I'm new here and new to dragracing. I have a 1984 Chevy S-10 Extended Cab pickup. I'm running a 350 bored to a 355 with a set of flat top piston, a 520 duration cam, stock heads, headman headers, turbo 350 tranny, 456 auburn rears, 10.5 X 28 X 15 tires on rear and 15 inch skinnys on front. Also running a set of single chamber flowmasters mufflers and MSD Blaster 2 Coil on a HEI ign.
Just getting into dragracing, run my second braket race yesterday and was put out in the first round with a reaction time of -001. Had a dialin of 8.01 and run a 8.011. I was a little upset when I saw the red light, but I got really mad at myself when I seen the 8.011 on the board. The other guys dialin was 6.98 and he ran a 7.01 with a -017 reaction time but I fouled first so it was my race to lose. Oh well that was yesterday at the south georgia motorsports park. We got rained out after the pros first round so they called the race anyway. If any of you guys want to email me some stories when you where first starting out I'd be happy to read them . BYE FOR NOW

Welcome. To be a really good drag racer you need a bunch of red lights on your resume, so don't get discouraged.
