Another day of getting goodies from the Merkur. I have all the wiring now and I was able to get the important wiring for the turbo charger circuits all in one piece. Theses operate all the sensors etc and controls the injection. I also took out the bucket seats which will need redoing. They are pretty ragged looking. next I will get the seat belts for the bucket seats. Then I will move to the rear and try to rescue the gas tank and the electric fuel pumps. And the rear lighting wiring. I have a few photos of this mess,

One good thing is I have the speedometer and tach that goes with this engine and everything will match up and work after re-wiring etc. I even like the looks of the gauges and speedometer. There are many other electronic goodies on this car that I will not be using. It has two separate computers for warning lights such as low washer fluid low brake fluid, brake pads etc, I don't need this junk, it is something else to break down when you don't need it. I may try to use the door locks and window motors etc. Now I will have to refit my gas tank, I have a 75 Mustang 2 gas tank in the car now. I will have to retrofit the Merkur gas tank 15 gallon with the inside the tank electric fuel pump for the injection. I also cut the front engine bay wiring harness as well as the rear wiring harness for all the lights and other stuff. This will make it easier for me to just run them and then splice the wires back to the main harness following the wire color codes from the manual. Check in later tomorrow and see what else i find. My alternate plans are to strip the body from the chasis leaving a rolling chasis for another Rod this Car has an independent rear suspension. Maybe shortened the frame and fit a v/8 to it???? hmmm
