It looks like warmer weather is coming. Today was a lot better than yesterday it was another 3.6 degrees in the morning. My furnace oil line froze solid it took a while to get heat in the shop. Anyway heres what transpired today. I had to change my plans on using Ash wood for the rear window and windshield frames. Ash wood is like not available in my area no one carries it. And it costs to much for shipping on line. So I was able to buy some 1X3 Red Wood boards which is much better than Ash for exterior weather etc. It is a softer wood than ash and more forgiving when cutting etc. Ill live with this decision . I made a rough frame and clamped it to the rear window opening to get a look at what this will be like. I did not trim the wood or glue it yet. I plan on doing that next time I work on the Rod. Maybe tomorrow. I also made some changes in my trunk cross bracing the pieces I had in there had put to much stress and twisting on the frame. So I cut them out and the metal relaxed back to conformity. I will fix that at another time. I had planed on getting all the rear area done at the same time so that I don't have to jump back and forth. That's why I started the window operation plus it was a change from metal to something else. Nice change so I don't get cranky. This wood will get painted the same time as the car when that time comes, if ever. Snow coming tonight and I have a large pile of brush that I have to Burn so that will be the 1st thing on my mind in the morning. I have some Photos of my roughing in of the rear window.

I was able to go to the shop and weld the bottom panels beneath the trunk. The cold was not to bad it warmed to 33 degrees. Just enough for me to get this done. Now I may have to spend some money on a 4x8 sheet of 18 Gauge for the quarter panels. I would like them to be full pieces with no humps or dips so I can attach my fender outline forms I have made from my wifes old metal Picnic table top. Also 18 gauge steel 42 inches in diameter just right for my rear fenders. This Table was headed for the dump when I saw the Hot Rod potential. I have a few photos..
