07-28-2004 06:55 AM Now the worst part
To install the springs, the old rivets had to be drill and ground out. Upside down drilling SUCKS. Pounding on a 65 year old car has a tendancy to drop all sorts of crap in your eyes, hair, etc. Anyways the front mounts are now installed temporarily, so I can check for wheel centering in the fenders.

If you notice the wheel, it is not centered in the wheel well. It appears to be about 3/4" to 1" forward. This will be corrected when I finalize the spring installation. The perches need to be moved back accordingly. No biggy.

I had to see what she'd look like. So I dropped it down on the springs to see if the centerline would change under load. If I wasn't so tired, I would have dropped the motor in and set the front fenders to get a more accurate ride height. I think its coming along OK. It just needs a larger slice of my time.

My brothers grill got so much attention at the Syracuse Nationals, that I felt compelled to help him finish it off. He "had" to have "fenders" that opened up for spice storage and utensil storage.

(The gurney is so he can load it in his pickup by himself-too much Monster Garage!)

This past weekend, I finally got around to building the new welding bench. Here are a few of the preliminary shots...
