11-11-2007 09:06 PM Rearend Changeout
Took out the 7.5 inch rearend out of my truck. it wouldn't make the grade. My test anyway, it would just end up a pile of oil and steel at some intersection. Got a 8 inch, it should suit me as thats all that i use in my bucket and it gets a real workout every time I go out. Had to cut all my brackets and mounts off the old one to do the switch, Still got it all done in a day. Camera went dead half way through though.

Took it for a test drive down the alley and all the neighbors were watching.

11-01-2007 09:51 PM Baffles finished
Welded the large cutout with the holes in drilled in it on the opposite end of the pipe after testing the depth of the baffle in my headers. made sure it was all square and slipped it in the header and it actually fit fairly well. Hopefully it should muffle the motor enough that my neighbors don't phone the cops on me. Gives me a bit of time to decide what I want to do with the exhaust anyway.

11-01-2007 09:44 PM Homemade Baffles part 2
Drilled a hole the same size of the center pipe in the small cutout and did the same to the large but I also drilled 8 5/8" holes around the perimeter of the first hole.Welded the small cutout on the end opposite the direction of the flow of the angled holes

11-01-2007 09:38 PM Homemade baffles
Had the engine running and it is loud, Decided to make a set of baffles and use them temporarily until I decide what to do with the exhaust, Started off with a 10 inch piece of exhaust pipe and a copy of circles i cut out with a cup saw. Wrapped some electrical tape around the pipe like a drill bit and quartered it with a felt pen. I used my air hammer and punched holes in the tube and angled them all the same way. This should make the exhaust spin around the pipe.
