Made my own frame horns, used 4 x 2 tubing and had to decide what to do at the front, was going to copy a set off a Buddy's TCI frame but what the hell, did my own, have a 3 and a half inch kick in the front and a seven in the back, using speedways coil spring kit in the back sort of following along the article in street rodder magazine has a lot of good ideas in it.
Spent the weekend cutting up the frame and tacking it up together. Inserted pieces of steel into the floor and made my own jig , spent a day tacking it up and another day cutting it apart and redoing it again, darn near perfect now just need to get it welded, a pressure welder that works for me will do it this week. I should be mounting the rearend and still haven't got a front axle yet though, a bit undecided but looking for a dropped I beam , haven't made my mind up which one I want to buy yet, any one have any ideas?
just working on figuring the rear kick and tried some options as with a four inch kick and a 8 inch kick, the first picture is the four inch kick on the box the second is the eight inch kick on the box, I'm going to go with the 8 inch kick to keep the cab line and the box on the same elevation.
Two cars without roofs in the same garage. But I bet you looked. Just a joke in the title, but i'm setting up my truck to be able to trailer my other car for trips back home to our cabin which is over 1000 k's away. Should look pretty neat pulling my bucket behind.
Started taking out the wood in the truck body split right apart, Looks like back in the sixties someone had an idea and used two door skins to fill in the roof. Going to rework them like they were looks kinda neat but I think I'll use something different then chicken wire in the interior.
