03-11-2007 06:39 AM Seats Finished
Got the brackets done. Each runner had to be welded in the exact spot and the whole assembly kept in square or the seats wouldn't travel freely. I definitely would not recommend this method to anyone. I got the seats in and then did a bit of customizing to the seat belt buckles to accept my Chevy belt latches.
Now.....how to build the 3rd seat/console/armrest????

03-04-2007 06:34 PM More Cable Stuff
A few more pics showing the piece of speedo cable added. The brake line is peened all the way around and the cables are set. Sure feels better than paying Chrysler for them.

03-04-2007 06:29 PM Drive Cables
Had to stop to make drive cables as Chrysler wanted $916.00 per seat for them.I got a speedometer cable from my parts supplier along with some 1/8" square bar and 3/16" brake line and went at it.
Pic 1: Square bar and brake line cut to size.Square bar has reliefs ground into corners to peen the brake line to.

Pic 2: Homemade "square peg into a round hole " tool.

Pic 3: Tubes squared out to accept the square bar.

02-25-2007 07:11 PM Seat Brackets
Using some 2"x1/2" steel bar for seat mounting brackets. I'm trying to use the existing bolt holes in the truck floor. I may drill and tap the holes to 1/2" as the current bolts are 3/8" and there are only 2 holes per seat.

02-25-2007 06:54 PM Leather Seats
Found a pair of leather seats from a Jeep Cherokee in pretty good condition. Of course when I bought them,I didn't know what to look for and they're missing 3 drive cables. Sat them in the truck and man are they tall. Pulled the rails out and drilled out all the stock mounts. They're just low enough, whew.
