04-05-2012 08:49 PM no spark and fuel pump issue
tried to start the car for first time with fuel injection on it. the car didnt start due to a no spark condition found 12v at both sides of coil suspect possible bad coil didnt have another coil to swap out so i pulled the distributor and spun it by hand in order to set trigger and create a spark. found intermittent spark and that the fuel pump would kick on with every spark. decided to abandon the wire from the coil neg to the throttle body as i suspect theres an issue where the 12v on the neg side of the coil is being applied to the fuel pump thru the computer. intalled street fire msd box and wired distributor in conjuction with box so that now the trigger wire for the rpm reference for the throttle body will now come from the ignition box instead of the coil neg
