Lizard Skin SC over fresh epoxy

Hi, very nice forum you have here. I had not even known about it until a few days ago while doing a search on epoxy.
I am currently sanding and almost ready to apply epoxy primer on my undercarriage. I would like to prime today and apply the Lizard Skin sound control tomorrow without sanding. Anyone think I can do that or am I going to have to wait and scuff?
I should have asked them before hand, I have just gotten behind schedule and would rather not wait.
I have not formally introduced my self but I will soon. But the way I am restoring a 67 GT Mustang Fastback.

Thanks

I just finished doing exactly that on my underside of my '31 Model A. I phoned Lizard Skin directly and he told me to let the epoxy cure 24 hours and then give it a light scuff first before painting. Once the sound coat is on again let it cure 24 hours before applying the ceramic heat control.

I let that cure for a few days and then scuffed lightly and re covered everything with the epoxy again followed by painting with an acrylic enamel just to make it easier to clean. If I remember right he said use a paint with 20%??? flex to it. It really attracted the dust without the paint and he said paint won't affect the performance.

I guess I could do that but I wanted to save a little time and work if and only if I could do it without sanding I could do it today.
There is an article on custom Rodder and it does not look like they scuffed it at all. http://www.customrodder.com/tech/0507cr_spray_on_auto_undercoating/photo_05.html

And a article on vintage mustang forums where a shop http://www.krpandr.com/ does it an hour after the epoxy is applied. They have done it sever times like that.

I thought if I could do that it would be great. Then I could coat with the ceramic and paint later this week.

I wouldn't have thought about trying it until I felt comfortable that is had been done successfully. I guess I will make my mind up later today.

Thanks
John
