Are Matrix and PPG products compatible with each other?

Just wondering if anyone has tried using Matrix Epoxy Primer with PPG Shopline or Deltron paint. I have a couple gallons of Matrix Epoxy Primer (MP-900) and would like to spray some PPG DBI over it for my interior.

Are they compatible with each other?

Using one primer, fully on it's own then putting another paint over it means nothing, you can do that with any brand.

You just don't mix products within the primer or paint. You don't use Matrix hardener in PPG primer for instance. But using Dupont urethane primer under Sherwin Williams paint isn't a problem.

It's always best not to, using the same "system" from start to finish is going to eliminate any thinking about it, you follow the tech sheet to a T with flash times with solvents used and all that and you are simply eliminating every single thing that can go wrong as you are using the product exactly as the company sells it. THAT is going to be the best, but realistically using a different primer isn't going to do a damn thing.

yup, it doesn't matter at all. When you've been doing this work a while you run across many different brands and get where you have your preferences and others you simply wont use. I have my favorite epoxy and that's what I always use. Same with my 2k urethane primer, I've had trouble with some or the cost just got out of hand, it was tough finding primers that preform well at a reasonable price. Paints and bases are a little different I use a few brands. Clear is also extremely important so when I found the perfect clear That sprays easily, holds up for years and is also reasonably priced That's the one I use. The name on the can has nothing to do with anything.
There are a few primers that aren't compatible and shouldn't ever be used, like lacquer primer (or any 1k primer for that matter) under BC/CC
If you get your paint from the ppg store they'll say anything to sell you PPG paint systems but ppg makes some pretty low end stuff along with their good quality products that I'd never use so does just about all paint manufacturers, so getting a low end primer and a good quality paint just because its from the same company isn't a good idea and wont assure good long lasting job at all, quite the opposite.
